So with the introduction of the iPad and Kindle Fire we are noticing that most people are sprawling towards these shiny new devices. I like them both but my girlfriend just recently gave me her older Kindle because she got the new Kindle fire. I thought this would be a play toy; however, it has now turned into a work object for me to use everyday!
So I help a few friends out with their email filtering for their law firm and Postini was the clear choice for a long time since it was affordable for them as compared to Cudamail which is about $500 per year! For a 5 person operation that is insane and not affordable; however, their service is great! So I did some digging around and found Spam Hero via a google search and here is my review…
I will keep this simple and to the point: In-line UPS system merely monitor the input voltage and are set to kick in the battery when levels drop below a specified voltage. This means that your device can STILL experience a power sag. On-line UPS system perform a double conversion where the power is taken in and converted to DC so it is cleaned up and then converted back to AC power nice and clean for the system. This also ensure that voltage NEVER sagsĀ even when power drops to something absurd like 90V. At such a low point the batteries kick in; however, no power sag like the in-line. The differences are substantial enough to warrant looking at on-line for mission critical stuff.
So you want to see if there is an easy way to determine if you have a more generic rule that is being executed before a more specific rule? In ScreenOS this is very simple and it, of course, from the days of these devices belonging to NetScreen. The reason for this is that you don’t want a less specific rule blocking a more specific rule for security reasons so there is a paste from Juniper’s website, giving them all the credit since I could not have explained it better myself:
The one thing I hate about LinkedIN (besides it’s otherwise boring nature in general) is that you cannot block certain people or companies. In fact, it has less security than facebook or myspace! This is a major issue for privacy I believe and if someone doesn’t desire to be found online then LinkedIN will surely topple that desire. If you so desire to somehow block someone by looking you up by a company (such as I don’t want a former employer and their immature employees stalking me) you can create another profile with less than accurate information and put them as a former employer there. This isn’t entirely effective but it does confuse the less educated.
So I see this has been beaten to death and it appears a lot of open source zealots are all for just ditching Exchange and moving into google apps. Well, you might want to take a more objective look at what each has to offer and make and informed decision. While google apps looks promising and cheap you are also dealing with a company that now realizes it has to grow up and make big boy decisions. Read on… Read the rest of this entry »
If you find yourself creating VLANS on a Layer 3 switch but can’t seem to get them to route you may not have ip routing enabled. This is a “global” configuration command and it really simple:
Switch-A> ip routingĀ — This works in both HP and Cisco switches.
So I think a lot of people have been looking for this about Express Consolidation or the latter Debt Management Counseling Center. For the few who know I gave testimony against Express Consolidation after I voluntarily terminated my employment due to unethical practices. I have since followed the story and here it is below: http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-11th-circuit/1537308.html Read the rest of this entry »
